Got to love Anushka Sharma. The girl has been tweeting nonstop about the Chennai floods. From helpline numbers to people offering food/accomodation and also retweeting help for missing persons. While she did make a Dubsmash video with Ranveer Singh, after he asked her when they met at an event, she did not post it to her followers. Or retweet Ranveer’s link. While many top actors and directors feel obliged to scream their (fake) support for their co-stars on social media, she doesn’t. She uses the platform to spread things that are important to her. Like keeping the beach clean to creating awareness about animal-friendly Diwali campaign. Which makes Ms Sharma a champ in our books.
Apart from her, stars like Varun Dhawan and Dhanush too have been actively tweeting about the Chennai floods. These actors are aware of the fact that while promoting films and themselves through social media platforms is important, raising awareness and posting on social issues is necessary as well. After all, celebs have that kind of power, to make a difference, even if it means tweeting about a calamity, disaster.
