2019 would have witnessed a mighty clash between father and son, Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan. But it has been averted. According to a report in TOI, Chiranjeevi's Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy was ready to take on Ram Charan's and Boyapati Srinu’s yet-to-be-titled film. Now the Chiranjeevi-starrer will release in the Summer of 2019 which was initially scheduled during Pongal 2019. This is the same film where Amitabh Bachchan will be seen playing the role of an old man. He was in Hyderabad a few months ago to do a look test for the film. The megastar tweeted about it saying, "Dear friend Chiranjeevi, that majestic superstar and icon from the world of Andhra and Telugu cinema, requests for a guest appearance in his magnum opus, on a most valiant period character that he portrays, and I agree." AB almost looked like Rabindranath Tagore in those pictures although he asserted that it wasn't the final look.
Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is a trilingual film which will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. It is based on the life of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy and is apparently made on a lavish budget of Rs 150 crore. Others in the cast, apart from Chiranjeevi are Nayanthara, Jagapati Babu, Kiccha Sudeep and Vijay Sethupathi. Interestingly, the film is produced by Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan and is directed by Surender Reddy.
Ram Charan's yet untitled flick with Boyapati went on the floor in May. The actor is on a high after tasting humongous success with Rangasthalam this year and will obviously look to continue his winning streak. As per reports, Ram Charan plays an angry young man who stays in joint family with many brothers and sisters. Apparently, the satellite rights of the film have already been picked up for Rs 47 crore.
