However, he says he has immense respect for the network and will abide by legalities
Matters seem to have indeed soured between Kapil Sharma and Colors. A few days back, we heard how the channel sent a legal notice to Ali Asghar (Daadi) and Sunil Grover (Gutthi) prohibiting them from performing their iconic characters on any other show or public platform. The actor’s legal team will be replying to the channel about the same. Talking exclusively to Bollywoodlife, the actor said, “The matter is being handled by my legal team. I cannot comment on it. One has to give due respect to both the parties.”
There is a lot of buzz about the new show that will soon reportedly air on Sony. However, the actor says the format is not finalized so far. “The creatives are working on it. I have no idea about the format so far. The overall format has not been conceptualized as yet.” It is no secret that fans are crazy about Daadi and want him back. But Ali is kicked about playing a new character. He says, “As a performer, I want to try out something new. We’ll have to see what works out best. The team is sketching out new characters.” Ali further says that he has not given any input to the creative team so far.
When we questioned him how he felt when he got the channel’s legal notice, the actor replied, “We have been a part of the channel. It gave us a great platform to showcase our skills. Yes, we were not ready for the legal notice. Sunil and I are more aware of the legal details now and we will be careful,” he signs off.
