Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's 2.0, which emerged to be the biggest hit of 2019 was slated to release on July 12 but due to some reasons, it got postponed. Now the new release date is out and it's September 6. Well, this news will definitely cheer up all Thalaivar and Khiladi fans.
It will be distributed by the Chinese company Beijing HY Media Co Ltd. "China has emerged as a highly lucrative market for Indian content, raking in handsomely at the China box office. Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar are superstars in their markets and we are thrilled to bring this unison of superpowers to the China market. We are confident that a movie of this stature will be popular with Chinese audiences," Lisa, General Manager, Beijing HY Media Co Ltd said in a statement.
A sequel to Shankar's 2010 blockbuster Enthiran, 2.0 has been produced by Lyca Productions and was released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi on November 29. The film, which features Rajinikanth in three different 'avatars', also stars Amy Jackson, Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey. Akshay Kumar, making his southern debut, plays the antagonist. The film has been made on a budget of Rs 600 crore.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of Mission Mangal. It is based on the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), or the Mangalyaan project launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in November 2013, to put a space probe in planet Mars' orbit. It jointly-partnered by Pad Man helmer R Balki and is directed by Jagan Shakti. The film also stars Nithya Menen, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Sharman Joshi in key roles. Anyway, do you think 2.0 will impress Chinese audience?
