MS Dhoni is directed by Neeraj Pandey
Actor John Abraham, who has stunned audiences with his action-packed avatar in the buddy cop film Dishoom, says he is not doing a special appearance in M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story. Asked if he will be doing a cameo for the film, John told a news portal: "No, not true at all. I don't know what is happening..."
Directed by Neeraj Pandey, M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story is a biopic on cricket icon Mahendra Singh Dhoni and will be releasing on September 30. The film stars Sushant Singh Rajput in the title role. It also features Anupam Kher, Bhoomika Chawla, Kiara Advani, Herry Tangri and Disha Patani.
John is currently enjoying the success of Dishoom. who plays a police officer in the film, shared that Dishoom is neither biased nor an anti-country movie. It is all about entertainment. "If you give a film an opportunity, if you see the film, you realise that it's not a biased or anti-country film. It's an entertaining film and it is meant for entertainment, but like I said, if you are myopic in your views, this is what happens," he added.
Dishoom, which released on Friday, collected Rs 37.32 crore in its opening weekend.
John is happy with the "fantastic response" in the country, and is grateful to his fans for watching the film.
The 43-year-old actor said: "The rains have been incessant... I sat with Sajid Nadiadwala (producer) and the team in the studio and we spoke. We realised that we lost business of Rs 4 crore over three days, but considering the fact that we've lost that business, we have still got a fantastic response in India and overseas."
John, who is gearing up for his next film Force 2, says he always wanted Dishoom to work, especially for its director Rohit Dhawan.
