Omung Kumar's directorial was earlier set to release on April 5 but the makers made a decision to push it further. Initially, they were clueless about the new date but now everything is in place. Vivek shared a new poster of his film on Instagram writing, "Thank you to each and every one of you for your blessings, love and support. Thank you to the Indian Judiciary. We hope you like the film and that it inspires you all! #PMNarendraModi ? Jai Hind ?? @omungkumar @officialsandipssingh @oberoi_suresh @anandpandit @tseries.official."
Take a look at below:
This film will trace the life of the current Prime Minister of India and his struggles to leading the largest democracy in the world. The film begins from the time when Narendra Modi used to serve tea as a young boy. Earlier, in an interview with IANS, when the Sandip Ssingh, the producer of this project, was asked to why he chose to make a biopic on Modi, he had said, "I wanted to make a film on him because his life journey is really inspirational, but from the time I started pitching the idea to people, everyone said it is too risky to do it because he is a sitting prime minister and people have an opinion on him. For the last four years, I looked for support from the industry and finally, people are on board... I did not give up.
For the ones who are not aware, earlier a PIL was filed seeking a stay on the release of the film. The opposition parties had claimed that Omung Kumar's directorial was a propaganda film and its initial release (April 5) was planned with the motive of influencing voters in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. However, the road is now clear for the makers of PM Narendra Modi. And with this film, Vivek has also become one of the star campaigners for BJP in Gujarat.
The film is being co-produced by Vivek's father, Suresh Oberoi and Aanand Pandit, whose last release, Total Dhamaal, turned out to be a hit at the box office.
