Following a decent run at the box office, Nandamuri Balakrishna's much talked about action film Daaku Maharaaj is set for its premiere on OTT. Even though the film faced fierce competition from Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2, Venkatesh's Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, and Ram Charan Game Changer, the film managed to earn over ₹90 crore within a month of its release. The film, which was directed by Bobby Kohli, was lauded by the viewers and the critics alike for its positive feedback for its storyline and cast's performance.
According to the latest reports, Daaku Maharaaj is expected to get released on OTT.
Daaku Maharaaj revolves around the story of a philanthropist who lives peacefully with his granddaughter when he is told about an illegal wildlife trade that takes place in his tea estate. He gets threats from an MLA and his brother, but funds help from dacoit leader Daaku Maharaaj. The film also gives the viewers a flashback, which shows how Sitaram changed from being an engineer to Daaku Maharaaj after he witnesses the crimes of the Thakur brothers.
The movie's song Dabidi Dibidi - which featured Balakrishna and Urvashi Rautela - had stirred up massive controversy after its theatrical release. The much-awaited track was slammed for its choreography. Many felt the steps given to the actors were vulgar.
Besides Nandamuri Balakrishna, the film also stars Bobby Deol, Pragya Jaiswal, Urvashi Rautela, and Shraddha Srinath in key roles. According to Sacnilk, the film collected ₹90.39 crore in 26 days. It opened with ₹25.35 crore and collected ₹66.4 crore in the first week. In the second week it earned ₹17.05 crore followed by ₹5.38 crore in the third week.
