Actor and producer Nikhil Dwivedi, who bankrolled films like Salman Khan's Dabangg 3 and Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor's Veere Di Wedding, has been tested positive for COVID-19. While Nikhil has quarantined himself at home, his wife Gouri has been tested negative. Confirming the news, the actor-producer told E Times, "Yes, I have tested positive for Coronavirus." Well, we pray the star recovers soon from this dreaded virus.
The producer recently announced Naagin trilogy featuring Shraddha Kapoor in the titular character. Talking about it, the actress said in a statement, "It’s an absolute delight for me to play a naagin on screen. I have grown up watching, admiring and idolising Sridevi ma’am’s Nagina and Nigahen and always wanted to play a similar role rooted in Indian traditional folklore. It’s like playing an iconic character, which has always been so fascinating for the audience."
While talking to BollywoodLife, Nikhil revealed why he chose Shraddha for the role, he replied, “I think Shraddha is one of those very few actresses who has a unique quality, where she can be a girl-next-door one day, and the next day she can turn into an absolutely sensuous woman — it's like the turn of a switch. That really appeals to me and I feel, especially given this story, she can be ordinary one day and a superhero the next. That really works for me.”
When asked whether Shraddha Kapoor's character and performance in Stree made him decide to cast her Naagin trilogy, he replied, “No, no...not really. To me, when I was thinking of Shraddha, it didn't even occur to me. You know, I just knew that somehow Shraddha just fit into the whole thing.” The actor confirmed that it's a big screen film and will only release in theatres. So, are you excited for it?
