Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet's De De Pyaar De hits the theatres this week. It is directed by noted film editor Akiv Ali. The film starts off with a funny sequence at a bachelor's party where Ashish (Ajay Devgn) meets Ayesha (Rakul Preet). They instantly develop an attraction. After some banter and chats of one-upmanship in the flirting game, they start dating. The highlights of the first half are some of the epic dialogues. Javed Jaffrey is brilliant as Ajay's psychiatrist friend. Sunny Singh shines in a small cameo.
The first half clearly belongs to Ajay Devgn. The superstar has his swag on point as he mouths some corny lines with a poker face. In the first half, there are dialogues that have us rolling with laughter. Rakul Preet brings in a lot of energy to her role of a carefree, spunky and vivacious engineer who does bartending on weekends. She is also looking damn glamorous in the film. There are some double meaning lines too but they are written in a very clever manner and do not sound cringe-worthy at all. The first half ends with Ashish bringing Ayesha to his home in India in Manali. She gets introduced to his wife, Manju (Tabu). We have to see how the drama unfolds from now on...
