They say fashion is versatile and style is always distinct. But the glamour industry is very weird in itself for we have trends changing almost every other day. If a certain fashion is a rage now, there are chances that it might disappear by tomorrow. We still remember everyone’s obsession with capris and harem pants that was quite evident few years back. And now the term ‘power dressing’ is slowly gaining momentum. Blame it on the aura that comes with the term or just the fact that the ensemble makes you look extra stunning, power dressing and pantsuits are here to stay for long and there is no denial or escape route for it. In a fashion riddled industry, it is quite difficult to match up with new trends every single day but our Bollywood celebs manage to nail it somehow and kudos to them for that. When our B-town ladies are not blowing our minds with their path – breaking roles, they are busy astounding us with their gorgeous fashion outings. Be their red carpet appearances or random casual musings, these ladies sure know how to strike a chord and leave us gasping for breath. But ignoring all other appearances and fashion choices, the one trend that has really grabbed our attention is the printed pantsuits. Not one, not two but many leading ladies of tinsel town have stepped out recently displaying their penchant for this rage. Deepika Padukone made it a little more obvious when she opted for a Gucci floral printed pantsuit while returning from China premiere of xXx – Return of Xander Cage. Though her outfit received a lot of flak then, little did we know that she was trying to stay ahead of her time. Soon the printed pantsuits became an obsession among the celebs and their likeness for the same is very evident now. Right from Katrina Kaif to Kangana Ranaut to Vaani Kapoor, all our ladies have displayed their affection towards this trend and we must say, we are in love with the majority of their choices. Flitting from one insanely amazing style to another, Bollywood’s leading ladies have regaled us with their casual avatars nailing their personal style to the hilt. Below are the actresses who have recently showed their attachment to the same trend.
Katrina Kaif’s dark green floral pantsuit from Zara was not only appealing to our eyes but it even made our pockets smile. The pantsuit from this foreign brand can be yours for Rs 8,000 and we see no major reason why you should avoid owning it. Loved the print and the way Kat carried it.
Deepika Padukone’s Gucci pantsuit was a strict no no but our celebs always had a soft corner for it. Though the pantsuit and colour was a sheer disaster, she was atleast ahead of her time. The latter can be gauged from the fact that former One Direction singer, Zayn Mallik sported it at one of his photoshoots for gender equality.
Kangana Ranaut’s white printed pantsuit from Zara has divided the fashion aficionados like us. While some find it hideous, there are others like me who are totally in love with it. Guess it's the actress' credit 'cause she carried it so well. We loved the print and silhouette.
Opting for a polka dot pantsuit for one of the promotional events of Befikre, Vaani Kapoor proved why she can be the next fashionista on the block. She completely justified this Ashish Soni creation and made this retro print look so contemporary.
Opting for a pink camera print pantsuit by Masaba Gupta, Kalki Koechlin was successful in making the colour look so stylish and desirable. Kalki is one of the rare celebs who is open to experiments when it comes to fashion. On days when she isn’t receiving applause for her path – breaking roles, she’s busy baffling us with her stylish outings like these.
