Soundarya Rajinikanth completed the shoot of the much anticipated VIP 2 aka Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 that has her brother-in-law Dhanush as the main lead.And to make the moment sweeter, her father and the megastar of Tamil cinema, Rajinikanth, landed on the sets to give his encouragement and blessings to the cast and crew present. Rajinikanth also overlooked a couple of scenes being shot on the sets.
Soundarya Rajinikanth also shared these moments on her Twitter timeline with a caption, “It can’t get better than this !!! The One and only #superstar my appa on set. Last day shoot for @dhanushkraja sir #VIP2 @theVcreations ." In another tweet, she also thanked the star of her movie, Dhanush, "Thank u D sir I’ve learnt & am learning so much from you !!! #D34 #MyMentor" This is Soundarya's second movie, after attempting India's first motion capture animated movie, Kochadaiiyan, starring Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone.

Actress Kajol, who is also playing an important role in VIP 2 which is her comeback to Tamil cinema after being the lead in Minsara Kanavu two decades ago, says she had a great time working with her director Soundarya. Speaking to IANS, she said "She (Soundarya) is great. She is a wonderful person. She has been absolutely amazing to work with and I have had a great time working with her. The role is something I am really very happy about. I really can’t reveal much about the film, as I have got strict orders from my director not to talk about the film."
VIP 2 is scheduled to release in June 2017.
