The Tamil actor will play a local boy from Varanasi in his next film, Raanjhana, directed by Anand L Rai (of Tanu weds Manu fame). Obviously, playing a North Indian character isn’t going to be a cake walk for the South actor. And Dhanush, who is currently busy wrapping up his projects down south. Rai wants Dhanush to transform into a complete Varanasi lad. And in order to achieve that, the director has given the Kolaveri di star a compilation of Raj Kapoor movies like Awara, Shree 420 and Mera Naam Joker. In an interview to a daily, Rai says, “Dhanush is a very perceptive actor and has the astuteness of a director. Therefore, it's easy to explain this experiment to him.”
According to the story, Sonam Kapoor plays a Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student, who hails from Varanasi too. With Dhanush trying to emulate Raj Kapoor, any guesses who Sonam can draw her inspiration from?
