In the press meet held at the Yash Raj Film studio for Dibakar Bannerjee and YRF's next production Titli, an elated Kanu was seen talking about his directorial debut with utmost conviction.
Kanu, who has worked with the Shanghai director before on Love Sex or Dhokha and Oye Luck Lucky Oye, said that his film is personal as it derived from lived experiences. On being asked whether the film is autobiographical, Behl clarified that it isn't. Rather it is an autostory, a unique term Dibakar came up with to describe Kanu Behl's film best.
Kanu added, "Titli is not autobiographical but like a dive-board it triggers certain personal memories and experiences which progressed to flesh out as a partly-fictionalised narrative"
So is the Kanu-Dibakar jodi excited about Cannes? Kanu said that they had been working hard to complete the film till only a few days back. But they expect to garner the audience attention with their thought-provoking Titli.
