The trailer has action, romance, drama, comedy, punch dialogues and dance numbers, but still manages to look boring and ordinary
I have stated this many times that cliches and mass hero worshiping are two plagues that has been bringing down the standard of films. Looks like yet another film is ready to join the bandwagon of mindless masala movies.
Despite his last film Lion failing miserably at box office, Nandamuri Balakrishna is refusing to learn from his mistakes. NBK is back with Dictator, which looks stale and done to death commercial film. The film directed by Sriwass stars Balayya, Anjali and Sonal Chauhan. The trailer of Dictator is out and it doesn't look very appealing.
Dictator is NBK's 99th film, but it is sad to see that he is still stuck in the rut, not willing to try something different. He is 55 and Rajinikanth is 65, but Rajini still looks fit and young in comparison to Balakrishna. It seems very odd to see him romance Sonal Chauhan and Anjali who are half his age. And there is nothing new in the trailer to keep you hooked. The promo opens up with a typical intro song of NBK at Ganesh festival, something which we haven't seen yet (pun intended)! Then we are introduced to the needless second heroine Sonal Chauhan, who is just there for a song and to add glamour. Then main heroine Anjali steps in, throw in a few comedy scenes here and there, shoot a song in foreign locales and finish the trailer with a barrage of punch dialgoues and mind numbing action scenes. Dictator has all the ingredients to make a perfect masala film. But unfortunately it looks far from entertaining and NBK looks so out of place. The only thing which impressed me in the trailer is the music of SS Thaman.
