Though the bubbly actor is not a part of Roy, the shooting of Ranbir starrer has hit a roadblock coz of Preity. Read on to find out how…
The shooting of Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer Roy has been stalled. The Kapoor lad was supposed to shoot for the film in South Africa in March. In fact, director Vikramjit Singh along with his Director of Photography (DOP) S Nataraja was all set to leave for a recce on February 8 for the same. But that won’t be happening as Preity Zinta has lodged an FIR against S Nataraja at Khar police station. Here’s why: S Nataraja was the DOP for Preity’s home production film Ishkq In Paris and he had taken an advance of Rs 20 lakh from the dimpled actor back then. Reportedly, Nataraja hasn’t returned the amount even though he was dropped from the film.
While talking to a leading daily, a source told, “She (Preity) had signed Nataraja for Rs 85 lakh and had given him Rs 20 lakh as the signing amount. He had worked on the film for eight months before he was dropped. He thinks he was entitled to the advance. Preity's sudden move took him by surprise."
Currently, we hear S Nataraja is in Chennai trying to get anticipatory bail. He has also asked Vikramjit to wait till the matter is resolved. "Nataraja has my full support. I will wait for him, I hope the crisis will be over by this month's end." When contacted, Nataraja said, "I will come to Mumbai soon to sort out the matter. I had done a lot of work on Preity's film. I don't know what has been conveyed to her by her production team. There is definitely some misunderstanding but we should be able to sort things out” said the Roy director to a leading daily.
Apparently, senior cinematographer Anil Mehta is playing mediator between S Nataraja and Preity. Mehta even met the B-town beauty last weekend, we hear. But have the two parties settled the matter? We dunno. Guess will have to wait and watch!
