Known for his sharp tongue and quick wit, Rishi Kapoor has never minced words when it came to his personal or family life. One of the most brutally honest personalities of Bollywood, Rishi recently gave an interview to Filmfare magazine where he spoke at length about his son Ranbir Kapoor's much talked about love affairs and also toyed with the idea of his marriage. For the first time, Rishi has spoken about Ranbir's past relationship on record after he had been given a diktat by his son to refrain from talking about it. Here is what he said.
"He's had two relationships in the past with his co-actresses. We've had no problem. It's up to him who he wants as a wife, as a girlfriend or work with as a co-actor. He's most welcome to marry whoever he wants. We'd only be happy to have a daughter in law." So, The Kapoor & Sons actor has clearly spoken of Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif as his ex girlfriends. Therefore, he has clearly confirmed Ranbir's much publicised break up with Katrina.
Speaking more about Ranbir's marriage plans he revealed, "I don't interfere in his personal life. You can't expect today's children to go in for an arranged marriage. Today, they'd rather opt for a live-in. The total concept of love and marriage has changed. I had a love marriage. I chose my wife. My parents did not impose their choice. We have no say in Ranbir's choice. When Ranbir decides to marry someone, we won't have any objections."
Rishi also spoke very warmly about his equation with Ranbir, unlike his last interview where had said that he and his son are not friends. He revealed, "He lives separately but drops in whenever he can for dinner. He comes over when he's free and has a drink with me. He has two huge pet dogs. Presently, he;s shooting in Mandawa with Karan Johar. So has left them with them. We're babysitting his children. They love the garden and the open space."
