The hit machine of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar is currently busy with the shooting of Prithviraj, which is based on the life of warrior king Prithviraj Chauhan. While this might be his first biographical venture of the megastar, it will amaze you to know that Akshay Kumar was keen to do the biopic of MS Dhoni, which featured late Sushant Singh Rajput in the central character. In an interview, Akshay Kumar revealed this thing and said that he asked director Neeraj Pandey to consider him for the role but he politely refused, citing the reason that Akshay doesn't look the part and the superstar had nothing to reply after that.
Sushant Singh Rajput underwent intense training for the role of the cricketer and impressed everyone with his batting skills apart from acting mettle. The film turned out to be a box office success with the collections of around Rs 133 crore at the ticket windows. The film also featured Disha Patani, Kiara Advani, Anupam Kher and others in pivotal roles.
Akshay Kumar will be next seen in Sooryavanshi, which also features Katrina Kaif, Jaaved Jaaferi, Gulshan Grover, Kumud Mishra, Abhimanyu Singh, Vivan Bhatena and Sikander Khan, with special appearances from Ajay Devgn as Singham and Ranveer Singh as Simmba. The film was supposed to release on March 24 but has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. It’s been bankrolled under the banners of Rohit Shetty Picturez, Dharma Productions and Cape Of Good Films.
Akshay's Laxmmi Bomb, which was supposed to release during this Eid, is reportedly releasing on an OTT platform. The film also stars Kiara Advani in a key role. In "Laxmmi Bomb", Akshay plays a character that will be possessed by a ghost of a transgender. Laxmmi Bomb is an official remake of Muni 2: Kanchana. Apart from Akshay and Kiara, the film also stars Sharad Kelkar, Ashwini Kalsekar, Tusshar Kapoor in key roles.
