Bollywood's bubbly actress, Preity Zinta made her debut in Bollywood with 1998 release Dil Se. The movie that starred Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala was directed by Mani Ratnam and she couldn't have asked for a better debut. Post that, she rose to fame with Bobby Deol's Soldier in 1998 and Kya Kehna in 2000. The Koi... Mil Gaya actress is one of the most talented actresses this industry has ever seen and she was the reigning queen of industry then. Though Preity Zinta made her debut as an actress in Mani Ratnam's directorial, she tried her hand at direction before. The Kya Kehna actress had recently signed Shekhar Kapoor's Ta Ra Rum Pum as her debut project, but she wanted to learn other ropes of film making as well. In one of her earlier interviews, Preity revealed the details of her job as an AD to Kuku Kohli for Ajay Devgn's Haqeeqat. Preity assisted the director for exactly a week when Ajay Devgn was shooting for an intense action sequence. So in a way, she belonged to the league of actors like Varun Dhawan, Ranbir Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra who too were assistant directors to notable directors before they forayed into acting. Preity's debut project, Ta Ra Rum Pum was eventually shelved and she was chosen by Mani Ratnam in Dil Se instead. From assisting the director on one of Ajay Devgn's movies to later romancing the actor in 2001 in Yeh Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke, Preity came a long way. Though the movie tanked at the box office, she's grateful that she got to work with Madhuri Dixit in it.
