After making a lot of news with the trailer, here's an item number from the film...
The makers of Dirty Politics have come up with the first song from the film, Ghaghra. The song, sung by Mamta Sharma on Sameer's lyrics and Sanjeev Darshan's music, features Mallika Sherawat as an item girl.
What's hot:
-Mamta Sharma's vocals are fantastic. She has definitely got herself typecast in such kind of desi item numbers. Not that we are complaining as she is simply fab.
-The lyrics by Sameer are not decent in any manner, but that's probably what the makers expected for an item song.
What's not:
-Mallika Sherawat is not a desi babe in any manner. Not everyone can pull off a Munni badnam hui like Malaika Arora Khan. Mallika's attempt to ape Malaika has gone horribly wrong.
-The composition by Sanjeev Darshan seems be on lines of Munni badnam hui, but it just doesn't crack the code.
-The dance choreography is as bad as it could get. Most of the steps look non-coordinated and that spoils the fun of watching the track.
-The lip-syncing is pathetic. If you watch closely, there are places in the song where Mallika continues to sing the song while there is no female voice in the background. It makes you guffaw at the bad editing.
