The popular couple called off their 9-year long relationship in March...
Hell broke loose when Ssharad Malhotra and Divyanka Tripathi announced their break-up, earlier this year.It was heart wrenching to read their joint statement that said, "The decision of calling off the relationship is mutual. We had a beautiful journey and the most lovely memories are helping us part ways cordially. Yet, it’s a painful process and speculations only increase the pain. We request the media to be considerate. This is the final word on this subject and we won’t be talking about what went wrong in our relationship. We believe it wasn’t destined to last."
While the couple had always remained secretive about their affair. It was reported that their relationship hit a rough patch due to some major loyalty issues from Ssharad's side. Well, all your doubts can be answered now as Divyanka FINALLY breaks her silence on ending her 9-years relationship. Yes! The Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actress has opened her heart out in this recent media interaction.
Elaborating on all that went behind calling it quits she says, "It has been a very difficult phase for me. The reason being I was in this relationship for about eight-nine years. I won't blame him for everything. Actually, I do(laughs). But still, there are certain things which I believe even I was at fault. For example, we make this man the center of our world. We believe our life is a fairytale, brought up by a prince charming and you live happily ever after. Why can't a woman independently have a happy ending?
"I remember when I came to Mumbai, I was a very independent girl. I experimented, tried adventurous things, entered different reality shows and won all on my own. At that time, I didn't require a prince charming to keep happy? Then why did I feel the need to put in extra efforts and sacrifice, after this person(Ssharad) came in my life? I am not very fond of cooking. I am a vegetarian. But I used to cook non-veg for him. Why? I used to be very busy. But still I always went out of my way and made time for his family. Because I knew he was very close to his family. I was there for him at every hour. I would sleep for lesser hours, just to keep him happy. But the same didn't apply on him. We women are fools to do so much for the man we love. And we forget to stand for ourselves. Now I ask myself, why did I do all that? The most important lesson I have learnt through this relationship is- don't ever lose your identity in making others happy."
