YRF's newest film has finally hit the theatres
Directed by Sharat Katariya and starring Ayushmann Khurana and Bhumi Pednekar, Yash Raj Film's latest offering Dum Laga Ke Haisha is simple, sweet and touching. When we watched the trailer of Dum Laga Ke Haisha, it certainly left an impact on ourmind with its unique concept. Our reviewer Subramanian Harikumar is watching the film at a theatre right now and has sent us his first impression of the film.
Subramanian says, " Dum Laga Ke Haisha tells the story of Prem played by Ayushmann Khurrana who is forced into marriage with a well educated but overweight Sandhya played by Bhumi Pednekar. The newly wed bride tries to settle into the family and strives hard to get her hubby's attention, but Prem, who clearly despises her, tries to keep distance. Just before the interval, a drunk Prem blabbers his hatred for Sandhya to his friends, which Sandhya overhears. This leads to Sandhya storming out of the house. Performance wise Ayushmann shines as an obedient son, who is afraid to speak his heart in front of his dominating father played wonderfully by Sanjay Mishra. Bhumi is a revelation as she pulls of her role effortlessly looking convincing in every frame. The supporting cast deserves kudos as they manage to keep you chuckling now and then with their antics. Set in Haridwar, during late '90s, the film has an old worldly charm to it and the locations look authentic. Overall the movie tells a simple story in an endearing way, making you grin from ear to ear at times. The film might come off as slow, which is the only thing I have against the film till now. Lets see how the film turns out to be in second half."
