Yesterday was indeed very special for the cast of the popular Star Plus show
It was a celebratory mood on the sets of Ek Veer Ki Ardaas Veera as they welcomed a special guest. Dalbir Kaur, sister of Sarabjit Singh, who was a death row prisoner in Pakistan, is a big fan of the TV show.
Dalbir along with Sarabjit’s daughter Poonam Singh visited their favourite stars Veera (Digangana Suryavanshi), Ranvi (Shivin Narang) and Baldev (Vishal Vashishtha) on Wednesday. The makers of the show Yash Patnaik had even invited the kids Harshita Ojha (small Veera) and Bhavesh Balchandani (small Ranvi) for the special occasion.
"I was pleasantly surprised to receive a call from Dalbirji. She got my number through a writer friend Rajesh Beri who is writing the film on Sarabjit Singh to be directed by Omung Kumar. She wanted to meet me and the entire cast of Veera," said Yash Patnaik, who owns the banner Beyond Dreams Entertainment along with his wife Mamta Patnaik.
"She met us at the office in the morning and went on talking about the show. She and her family have been following Veera from the first episode. She told us how our show used to remind her about her brother Sarabjit who was in Pakistan jail at that time," Patnaik added.
Digangana, who has just cleared her board exams with 77 per cent also uploaded a photograph with Dalbir and wrote, “Double happiness! Getting 77% in HSC Maharashtra board! And got to meet #dalbeerkaurji she's really an inspiration who fought and is still fighting for justice to her brother! It's very easy to say but to really fight, it needs believe, being fearless and strength to not walk with the mob but to set an example for everyone! #superhappy #blessed and big thanks to all my fans for the prayers and support! Thank u for always standing by me! Thanks a ton!”
It was indeed festive on the sets of the show.
