So the Emmys are here! The 69th primetime Emmy awards has just concluded, and we have to say the right winners got away with the honours, well nearly. Some of the major champs of the evening were the limited series, Big Little Lies, the comedy sketch series Saturday Night Live (though we think the wins have more to do with their political stance), and The Handmaid's Tale. The big surprises of last year, Stranger Things and Westworld failed to get any awards despite having scores multiple nominations.
The show was hosted by the very funny Stephen Colbert, known for the The Late Show, and was being held at the Microsoft Theater Los Angeles. Other surprises of the show was Lena Waithe for becoming the first African American woman to win an Emmy for writing in an comedy series. Donald Glover also became the first black person to win Outstanding Comedy Directing (Atlanta).
