Another tragic news has surfaced, noted music director Laxman aka Vijay Patil of Raam Laxman duo has passed away. The veteran musician composed music for films such as Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Hum Saath Saath Hain, 100 Days and more. He had been residing in Nagpur and passed away at his home earlier this morning. He was 78 and suffered a heart attack. Laxman's son Amar revealed that he had got his second COVID-19 vaccine a couple of days ago post which he started feeling a little weak. Revealing the tragic news of his father's demise, Amar told Indian Express, "My father passed away at 2:00 am on Saturday. He died due to a heart attack. He got the second jab of Covid-19 vaccine a few days ago, following which he was feeling very weak and fatigued, and a doctor was treating him for that."
Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar consoled his demise with a tweet. She said, "I just learned that the extremely talented and popular music composer Raam Laxman ji (Vijay Patil) has passed away. I am very sorry to hear this. He was a great man. I sang many of his songs which got very popular. I pay him my respects." Have a dekko at her tweet here:
Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Hum Saath Saath Hai's production house, Rajshri Productions also mourned the demise of the musician. They tweeted out a heartfelt condolence tweet which read thus, "Music Composer Vijay Patil a.k.a Laxman of the iconic #RaamLaxman duo passed away. Our deepest condolences to his family in this tough time. Rajshri will always remember him for his immense contribution to the music industry. May his soul Rest In Peace." Here's their tweet:
Raam of Raam Laxman aka Surendra passed away in 1976. Vijay Patil would continue working under the same name to honour his partner and friend's memory. May his soul rest in peace.
