Bollywood's hot couple Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif are just a day away from getting married. The two will tie the knot on December 9 in a traditional Punjabi ceremony. The wedding festivities began on Tuesday with a grand Sangeet night where the bride and groom performed along with their family members leaving all the guests mesmerised. And now, the bride and groom and their families and friends will start the Haldi ceremony. But there is one more big Mahila Sangeet that is planned especially for the bahurani. Vicky’s mother Veena Kaushal did something very special for her soon-to-be bahu Katrina. A source close to the family reveals, “Veena ji is very fond of Katrina. And while there was a big Sangeet night on Tuesday, she wanted to do something more intimate and special and so she organized a small Ladies Sangeet ceremony just like the typical traditional Punjabi style.”
The source further revealed that while guests have been pouring in throughout the day, the Ladies Sangeet that Veena Kaushal organized is only for the immediate family members and a few core members from the extended family on both sides. “There will be dholki’s that the women from Vicky’s family will play and sing some Punjabi folk songs which are all about marriage, married life and the life that lies ahead for the young couple. Veena ji wanted to give Katrina and her family from London a taste of Punjabi culture and this fun family affair was just the right way to do it,” revealed the source further.
The grand Sangeet ceremony that happened on Tuesday had performers from the bride and groom and their families and also performances from Bollywood like Shankar Mahadevan, Gurdas Maan amongst others. After the Haldi and Mahila Sangeet today, the team bride and groom will get busy in the wedding preparations for tomorrow. Meanwhile, there will also be a Mehendi ceremony around sunset today for family and friends.
