It has been six years after the blockbuster action-thriller movie Mardaani, in which we saw Rani Mukerji as the feisty and fierce cop. She impressed again with Mardaani 2 and for all those waiting for the actress to be back as Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 3, we have a great news. According to sources, Mardaani 3 has been in the works and in fact, the announcement about the same may come our way on Rani's birthday which is on March 21. Well, what better time to announce her film than her birthday as a truly special gift to all her fans?
Just like the first two films, Mardaani 3 will also rake-up a hard-hitting and relevant issue that women in the country face. The makers have spent a lot of time and effort in choosing the right story to tell and bring to light the state of women safety in the world we live in.
It may be recalled that director Gopi Puthran had announced just a few weeks after Mardaani 2 that he will be back with a third part. The director had said, “Mardaani 3 will definitely happen.” He had also said that they want to keep up to the expectations the audience have from the Mardaani universe and therefore, will not settle for just anything in order to ride on a hit franchise.
He had also shot down all speculations that there will be any other lead in the franchise other than Rani. He had declared “Mardaani is Rani and Rani is Mardaani.” The makers have great amount of confidence and conviction in their lead and with the way audience has embraced Rani as the Mardaani cop, we don’t think anyone else will ever fit the bill.
For the uninitiated, in Mardaani, Rani who is a fearless cop bust a human trafficking racket while trying to solve a kidnapping case.
