Nepotism is a HOT and very touchy topic in the country apart from the COVID-19 scare right now. Almost every celeb who has made the journey from television to films has faced it, it seems. Recently former TV actress Prachi Desai opened up on facing nepotism in the industry. However, the actress said that she has accepted that as a reality and a part and parcel of her professional life. Prachi doesn't deny not getting film offers, in fact at the age that she started in the industry, Prachi Desai did very well. She did TV and also films.
In an interview with Times of India, Prachi Desai was asked about facing nepotism and whether it affected her work in any way. The Azhar actress said, "See, that's a reality that is best accepted; there is no point denying it. It has been there, it is there, and it's probably going to be there. But today, I'm loving the fact that the audience is deciding a lot. So, as long as the audience supports, there will be space for everyone. And that's very, very, very important. To be honest, the kind of stuff that I'm getting offered now, and which wasn't coming my way a year or two years ago, is because of the audience. They are the people who have changed everything. As long as the people really like and support us, we will have a place for all outsiders like me."
In her interview, the Kasamh Se actress also spoke about having a gap in her career after initial films. The actress revealed that it was a planned step as she was getting offered similar kinds of roles. On being asked whether this conscious decision never put the fear of being forgotten in her mind, Prachi Desai said, "I thank the audience for just never forgetting me; I am so grateful to be here. They still love me unconditionally and support me so much. I was very strong-headed in deciding that I will pick roles that are different. So even if something very lucrative or something very big came my way, I would still not just jump into it, because I know that I was waiting for it."
Prachi was recently seen in a web thriller film called, Silence... Can You Hear It? which also starred Manoj Bajpayee and Arjun Mathur in key roles.
