Rashmika Mandanna seems to be in demand in Bollywood these days. Well, the actress has proved her mettle with the various films that she has done down in the South industry. So, we all know now that Rashmika Mandanna is making her debut with Sidharth Malhotra in Mission Majnu. She has also signed Goodbye with Amitabh Bachchan. However, did you know she would have made her Bollywood debut alongside Shahid Kapoor in the Hindi remake of Jersey? Yes, you read that right. We had earlier reported to y'all that Rashmika had been a contender for the female lead role in Jersey. But Super 30 actress Mrunal Thakur bagged the lead.
Well, Rashmika’s fans from across the country were a little disheartened but soon she turned their sad faces into happy smiles with the announcement of Mission Majnu earlier this year. Now, the reports of why Rashmika Mandanna couldn't be a part of Jersey have surfaced. Reportedly, the actress herself refused to be a part of Jersey. Yes, that's right. The Dear Comrade actress stepped back because she felt, she couldn't do justice to the role portrayed by Shraddha Srinath in the Telugu original.
Coming back to the remake, Gowtam Tinnanuri will be helming the Hindi adaptation of Jersey. The film will also have Pankaj Kapur in a key role. Meanwhile, the leading lady, Mrunal Thakur was all praise for Shahid. She stated, "I won't stop praising Shahid because he is so fabulous as a performer. Every time he creates magic on screen and I just kind of wonder 'how do you do it?' I make sure to sit in front of the monitor when it's his shot so that I don't miss out on that X factor that he has."
Further sharing an anecdote, the actress said, "I think Shahid Kapoor for me is like a learning. I have learnt so many things from him on the sets. I really appreciate the universe for making it happen. It was like a dream for my sister and me, we used to cut his pictures and used to get scolding from my parents. Now, it has finally happened and it's really nice to share all these moments with Shahid. He would say 'What are you saying?!' It was really sweet."
