You saw Amitabh Bachchan send out a personal letter to Deepika Padukone after watching her powerful performance in Padmaavat. You also heard Javed Akhtar call her "Mother India". However, not many of you all noticed how Rekha appreciated Deepika, despite the latter sharing a picture of the gift on her Instagram account a few days back. Yes...the golden wrapped gift that you saw on Deepika's Instagram is nothing but a special token of love from Rekha that arrived at DP's doorstep one day.

Reveals a source, "Deepika was elated to receive a handwritten note along with a gift from Rekhaji. It was a heart touching letter from the veteran actress who expressed her awe and appreciation towards Deepika’s performance in Padmaavat." Truly well deserved, we say!

But of course, this is not the first time Deepika has received such a pleasant surprise from Rekha. Deepika has always been Rekha's favourite, so much that she had gifted her a gorgeous silk saree even after the release of Bajirao Mastani. Indeed, rewards are more precious than awards and Deepika is getting to test the best flavour of success right now. When Deepika was asked to comment on the same she said, "For me, it is the success of womanhood in so many different ways. The film is also a celebration of the fact that this is the most expensive Indian film ever been made with a female protagonist. I view that as a victory. Not just for myself but for women in films."
