The actor is making great waves not just in telly town but also in movies
Bhanu Uday, who is known for his role in Star One’s popular crime show Special Squad, made his come to television with the show Hamari Sister Didi. While his new show opened to rave reviews, we’ve heard the actor is all set to make his debut in a Hollywood flick - Blemished Lights soon.
It seems Bhanu Uday will be seen playing a Pakistani butcher, who is brainwashed and sent to New York in order to assassinate a Muslim leader. Apparently Bhanu took a year to get his look perfect for the role. In the first half of the film, he sports a long beard and for the schedule in New York Bhanu went bald. “I have already finished shooting for the film. It will release sometime in April this year in New York and later in India. It was played at the Kerala film festival and has received a lot of acclaim. In fact, the makers got the funding for the movie after winning an award for the script,” said Bhanu
“I have three looks in this film. One where I have this long beard, the second one where I am bald and the last one is my regular look. The film is touches on two topics – fundamentalism and homosexuality,” added Bhanu. "My debut Hindi feature film Yaksh, which is also coming out this year is shot by National award winning cameraman Hari Nair. He was already working on Blemished Lights; he recommended me to the director but the director felt that nobody could understand the role and hence wanted to play it himself. He auditioned me for three months before finally giving me the role."
Considering the topic and visuals are extremely violent and sexual, the Censor Board is bound to create an issue with this one. Let’s hope we at least get to see this one on the big screens.
