The first reactions to Deadpool 2 are out and everyone is calling the movie better than its predecessor that came out in 2016. Before the movie opens in theatres on May 18, we have learnt of another thing that is better in the sequel - Karan Soni. The Indian origin actor reprises his role as Dopinder, the cabbie who drives around the Merc with a Mouth. Interestingly, his character is not there in the original comics but was only invented by the writers of the film. Yet, it went on to gain a cult following, which asked for his reprisal in the sequel. Speaking about the popularity of the character, Karan Soni said, "I am really surprised. I was very nervous when the first movie came out. I thought people were not gonna like my character because there are so many big fans in the comics, and my character was not in the comics. So, I was nervous that people will question why my character is taking up screen time. So, when that didn't happen, I was so happy."
The popularity certainly meant a bigger role for Dopinder in the sequel, and so it was. "When I read the script for the second one, I thought I would be in it as the same as in the first one. But I saw that I get to be in it so much more and really have a bigger story. I am so excited. If people liked my character then it is even funnier in the second one, " Karan further added. When asked if he gets to be a part of the superhero team X-Force in Deadpool 2, he only asked us to wait for the film to come out. Karan also hinted at the fact that there might be more Deadpool sequels in the making. “I am signed for two more sequels. So if 3 is made I’d be available for two more. So, I really don’t know what happens. But I guess Ryan knows what is the plan after this, but he has not told anyone anything as far as I know. For now, it is just this one,” the actor said.
