RJ Balaji talks about his role in Sivakarthikeyan's Velaikkaran directed by Mohan Raja and produced by RD Raja's 24 AM Studios. "I am not doing a comical role in Velaikkaran. My character is a devil's advocate. This film has an immense cast, and everyone has a substantial part rather than just a comedian cracking jokes. This film isn't about delivering a message but exposes to view certain everyday issues that we have so far ignored. Also, this movie will be essential to Siva Karthikeyan as it is very different from the roles he did so far. Most of the films he did in the past will be like how a reckless guy turns into a responsible person. He has come out of his comfort zone and tried a serious character," said Balaji.
Talking about his misunderstanding with actor Sathish on Twitter, he said, "I used to be very impulsive in sharing my opinion. A few months back when I had a chat session on Twitter, I impulsively tweeted something about actor Sathish. But later realized that I was at fault. Because Sathish was just a social contact and I shouldn't have involved in banter with him. Then we made things clear on the sets of Velaikkaaran. When I realized the already existing negativity and hatred outside, when I understood that there are youngsters who follow me, it was then I decided that I should be responsible."
