Bollywood's current muse Ayushmann Khurrana is everyone's favourite and at the top of his game right now. And now his wife Tahira Kashyap is joining the industry as well. We all are aware that she will be making her directorial debut with a slice-of-life flick. While she has been diagnosed with cancer, she is being brave about dealing with it and her posts are an inspiration. Also what is commendable is that she hasn't slowed down in any way. Her movie seems ready to hit the floors. BollywoodLife has got this exclusive piece of information and we are here to share it with you. So, from what we hear, the actress who will play the lead has been finalised. According to a reliable source, actress Madhuri Dixit is going to play the lead in the movie. The yet-to-be-titled project is a woman-centric narrative and Dixit fit the bill. Apparently, the actress, who was last seen in a Marathi film, Bucket List (2018), which was also her debut in the regional cinema, has signed on the dotted line as well.
A source close to the development reveals that Dixit will play a mother in the movie. "Her character is something that she has not attempted before. The actress to play her daughter will be soon finalised as well," says the source. The movie will go on floors soon as the rest of the casting is done.
While talking about her directorial debut, Tahira, in a statement, said, "I am delighted to be working with such incredible partners to bring a take on urban existence to the big screen. It feels surreal that something I had dreamt of for the longest, is finally happening. I’ve been writing screenplays for five years. It wasn’t an easy ride for me. I’m glad that Ellipsis believed in me, and together with T-Series, has given me a platform to breathe life into my script. I am truly excited about this new phase in my life and career."
Dixit's last Hindi film was Gulaab Gang in 2014. Her upcoming line-up of flicks also include Kalank, wherein she'll reunite with her Saajan co-star Sanjay Dutt. Interestingly, Dixit's last, Bucket List was also a slice-of-life film, in which she played a mother. So we can only wait and watch as to how different this one will be.
