Visionary director Shankar's sci-fi venture 2.0 has been in the news since its inception. The first look of this mega-budget film was launched in November 2016 and Akshay Kumar's spine-chilling avatar garnered immense praise from the audience. But post that the film faced many obstacles and hurdles to make its way to the theatres due to its VFX work. Now finally, the makers have locked in on a release date and it is November 29.
On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the producers of the film released the teaser for the audience. Despite being a top trending video on YouTube for two days, it has received a mixed response from the audience. Many movie buffs were disappointed that the VFX was not up to the mark, especially since a humongous amount of Rs 550 crore was spent on it. The audience also didn't like the fact that the screen time of Akshay's character was less in the teaser. Now, considering all the points, the makers have gone on the edit table and have cut the trailer in such a way that it will make Akki fans jump with joy. As per our sources, the trailer of 2.0 will have more of Akshay and less of Rajinikanth.
The decision has been taken by the makers to get a wider reach as Akshay Kumar enjoys a huge fan base pan India and this will definitely help the film to earn well at the box office. Also, Rajinikanth's last few films have performed below expectations at the ticket windows and Akshay is currently a bigger name than Rajinikanth in the market. So it is a practical move.
Produced under the banner of Lyca Productions, the film also stars Amy Jackson, Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey in pivotal roles. Do you think that the makers have taken a wise decision by giving more screen time to Akshay's character in the 2.0 trailer? Tweet to us...
