An Indian actor is playing the role of Mowgli.
The first and the second Iron Man director and also actor, Jon Favreau is directing a live action film based on Rudyard Kipling's most beloved children's story, The Jungle Book!
If you have seen the cartoon series based on the story or even read the book, you must be knowing the story by heart now. Mowgli is a child reared by a pack of wolves, after his parents when Sher Khan, the epic tiger villain, attacks their village. Mowgli himself believes that he is a wolf, though the rest of the animals, especially Sher Khan reminds him otherwise. With the help of Bagheera, a black panther, Baloo, a loveable bear, and of course, his supportive pack of wolves, Mowgle tries to find his place in the jungle as he does his best to remain out of Sher Khan's jaws.
The first look of the film with a still of Mowgli and Bagheera looking at each other was released, with Kaa the python resting on a branch, and monkeys hidden in the shrubs. The poster is simple yet evokes nostalgic memories.
An Indian kid, Neel Sethi, will play Mowgli, while the voice-cast consists of some big names in Bollywood like Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, Ben Kinglsey, Idris Elba, Christopher Walken and Lupita Nyong'o.
The film will have a world-wide release on April 15, 2016.
