So it's finally happening..Although we don't know how many of you guys will approve of this but the famous Marathi anthem Zingaat from Sairat is officially gearing up for its Hindi spin off with Karan Johar's Dhadak. Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, who will be seen recreating the magic of Sairat, began shooting for the song last night, with who else than Farah Khan choreographing the track. Turns out Karan just made one call to Farah and she willingly agreed to come on board. Sweet, we say! But now it's left to see will Farah really be able to live up to the Zingaat sensation.
Let's not forget how Jhingaat had the whole of India grooving to it once it hit the web. Sung by Ajay Gogavale and Chinmayi Sripadat, it broke national barriers in the true sense finding lovers spread across languages. I mean, it's been over 2 years since the film released and Zingaat is still a hit at every function and you have to dance when it's on! While initially the composers of the original track were hesitant to confirm if they will be a part of the Hindi version. Looks like the wait is finally coming to an end with the song finally been shot. Above is the first pic from the Jhingaat shoot as Farah posted on Instagram saying, "Keeping it under wraps!! Doing JHINGAAT all night? With #gennext @ishaan95 @jahnvii.kapoor"
For those of you who don’t know, Dhadak is the remake of hit Marathi film – Sairat. It raised the issue of casteism in the Indian society and also spoke about how love marriages are still a taboo here. The movie revolved around the love story of a poor fisherman’s son who had fallen for a rich local politician’s daughter. How they faced backlash and eventually had to kill themselves formed rest of the story. The film was one of the biggest hits of the year and it garnered a fantastic response from the audience. With such an engaging and heartwarming story, we are sure Dhadak will be fantastic too
