As the entire film fraternity/fans/media gather to pay their last respect to late Sridevi at the Celebration Sports Club in Mumbai today, we've have just got to hear that the legendary actress will be cremated with State Honours. Yes, the Mumbai Police band has already reached the venue, as you can see in the above picture. ANI too has tweeted with confirmation; which means Sridevi's body will be wrapped with the tricolour along with a three-gun salute.
Gone too soon they say but rather than mourning the death, we feel it's time to celebrate and pay homage to her amazing career that spans over 50 years. Not to mention, Sridevi was also declared as the first female superstar in the history of Indian cinema which only makes us bow down to her achievements that will echo forever in the industry. She was also awarded the prestigious Padma Shri Awards in 2013.
Sridevi, who is said to have died after accidentally drowning due to lack of consciousness, was survived by husband and her two daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor. The family is obviously too devastated by the loss. But what's worse is the fact how Sridevi, who was desperately waiting for Janhvi's Bollywood debut, won't be there to watch her first film Dhadak as it finally releases this year. Keep watching this space for more updates as the last rites will happen between 3:30 - 5pm today.
