Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa passed away on December 5, 2016. The popular actress turned politician was in hospital for more than 75 days before she breathed her last. Reports of malice started floating around and rumours suggested that she was poisoned. However, the team of doctors from Apollo hospital and Dr Richard Beale, a lung specialist from Britain dispelled all the rumours today by making 11 shocking revelations about her stay at the hospital and her death. In a press conference held by the Tamil Nadu government itself, the doctors made the following revelations:
# The doctors said that the cost of Jayalalithaa's whole treatment at the hospital was near about Rs. 5.5 crore.
# They even revealed how the Tamil Nadu CM was speaking for several days till she suffered a cardiac arrest. Talking about his last conversation with her, Dr Beale mentioned, "We talked about what she liked on TV, what food she liked, rehabilitation, I talked about my children."

# The doctors even revealed that Jayalalithaa was brought to the hospital for breathlessness. "There was an infection resulting in damage to organs and made her short of breath," they revealed. They even suggested that her condition improved somewhat after the initial infection and she was "conscious and responding."
# Jayalalithaa died of what doctors called a "witnessed cardiac arrest." They revealed that they attempted to revive her for 20 minutes, adding that her collapse was completely unexpected.
# Dr Beale also revealed, "It was severe infection with damage to organs that led to her death."

# The doctor had offered to take the popular politician to London for treatment, but she had indicated that she did not wish to travel to UK.
# The doctors even revealed that when Governor C Vidyasagar Rao made his second visit to Apollo hospital, he saw the Chief Minister through a glass screen and she raised her thumb at him.
# One doctor even confirmed that Jayalalithaa was conscious when she signed off on a document for by-elections in the state. There was much speculation on the CM's condition since the document bore her thumb impression and not her signature.
# The doctors have also completely ruled out poisoning and said there was nothing mysterious about Jayalalithaa's death. Expelled AIADMK member of parliament - Sasikala Pushpa has alleged foul play and filed a petition in a Chennai court alleging suspected poisoning as the cause of the Chief Minister's death.
