After returning from the United States, Tanushree Dutta has created a stir in B-town with her accusations against veteran actor Nana Patekar. In an interview with Zoom TV, Dutta revealed that everyone in the film fraternity is aware of Patekar's history of assaulting women on the sets of the film. Though, no one ever chose to open about this issue. The 34-year old actress elaborated on one incident from the sets of her 2008 film, Horn OK Please. She stated that Nana made her uncomfortable while shooting for a special dance number in the film. Not just that, the actress even accused Ganesh Acharya who had choreographed the song along with producer and director of the film for teaming up against her and not speaking a word to the veteran actor.
Tanushree had also stated, "Post the incident on the sets of Horn OK Please, Nana Patekar called up this political party who has a reputation of lynching and causing damages on the sets. And the producers called up the media to gain publicity from the whole situation. On one side we had the media and on the other side we had the political party workers. They vandalised my car completely. So, I got off my vanity van and headed towards our vehicle."
While Nana is yet to comment on the whole fiasco, Acharya, on the other hand has opened up about it. Talking to News 18, he said that Nana could never do such thing. He went on to say, "First of all, it’s a very old incident so I can’t really recall everything very clearly. But it was a duet song as far as I remember. Something did happen that day because the shooting was also stalled for over three hours. There was some sort of misunderstanding. But I can confirm that nothing this sort of happened. It’s a wrong statement that Nana ji called members of some political party on set. It never happened."
Commenting on the claims made by Tanushree on Nana, the choreographer defended the latter saying, "He’s a very sweet person, he can never do that. He is very helpful and he has actually helped a lot of artistes in the industry, he can never do anything like that." The matter seems to get murkier with people coming up with their own set of stories. A revert from the man himself, Nana may clear it for once and for all.
