The actor has something special to share with all you fans. Read on to find out...
It's that time of the year when we welcome lord Ganesh into our houses, into our lives. Be it a big idol, a small idol, a colourful idol or just about any variation, the amount of fun we have is always humongous. And we aren't the only ones to be this excited, our Bollywood celebs are no different. In a recent interview with BollywoodLife, when asked about his take on the festival and how he feels about it, Akshay Kumar relived some of his memories and he seemed to have been transported to an olden time remembering his younger days.
The actor said, "I have very fond memories of the festival. I have danced on roads when I used to stay in Bandra East. Even when I was in lokhandwala, I remember keeping Ganpati in our building and dancing on the road, taking it to Versova. It was so much fun - the five nights you have to be awake, there are competitions of carom, table tennis, the aarti, the food. I have great memories of it."
Happy and excited as he might be, the Singh Is Bliing actor also has a very important message to give out. He said, " I feel it is very auspicious but at the same time I will say that don't just make a Ganpati, make it eco-friendly because the worst site is one day later after the visarjan that you don't want to see. I have to see it because I stay at the beachside. It's very sad when you see Ganpati's hands and legs and you feel very awkward about it. It'll be great if people use the eco-friendly Ganpati because it dissolves in water and becomes sand. I know it's a little bit expensive but you can save a lot of environmental damage."
We totally back our Khiladi Kumar on this one. Hope you have very happy and eco-friendly celebrations!
