Down South, Ganesh Chaturthi is not the massive public festival it is in Mumbai
Nonetheless, the fest is celebrated with fervour and devotion in every home – for Ganesha is the God of new beginnings and the destroyer of obstacles. Our tinsel town folk get into the spirit of the festival, too, taking time off their shooting schedules to bring home clay idols, perform pujas, tuck into the delicious sweetmeats that are made on the day and also to spend time with family. We give you a peek into what some of them are doing on this auspicious occasion...
This year Vinayaka Chaturthi is extra special for me, since my recent release Paagan is doing great. Also, Paagan means the caretaker of elephants and Vinayaka is worshiped as the Elephant God, so I see a significance there. I wish all my fans and well-wishers a happy Ganesh Chaturthi. On the day I will be at home to offer puja to the Almighty along with my family.
