Kannada actress Rashmika Mandanna is currently basking in the success of her blockbuster Telugu release, Geetha Govindam. The comedy drama that saw her opposite Vijay Deverakonda, has crossed Rs 10 crore mark at the US box office and it is certainly a remarkable feat. But things don't seem to be all hunky-dory for the actress on the personal front. If reports are to be believed, Rashmika has called off her engagement with Rakshit Shetty.
Yes, such reports have also surfeced in the past and they have openly rubbished them off. But this time it looks like the couple is headed for a separation. The reason for the break up is cited to be compatibility issues. Deccan Chronicle quoted a source close to the actress as saying, "Rashmika made the decision after consulting with her parents, family elders and friends. It was a tough decision to make, but she is showing a lot of character in overcoming this personal and emotional setback."
The source also added that the actress wants to concentrate on her career. "She has been receiving some exciting offers in Telugu and Kannada, and wants to cement her place in both the industries," DC quoted the source.
A couple of months back, Rashmika had posted a very lovey-dovey message for Rakshit on Instagram. "This is not love.. b’cz love is perfect!! and we are just not perfect..we have so many flaws..But this..is just the two of us..two different souls who have searched for each other.. to teach each other about life..about everything..and I think we are each other’s best teachers b’cz the things I’ve learned from you I would not be willing to learn from anyone else..
❤️❤️This is something greater..much greater..?we have our differences.. which annoys each other..but I’d rather be annoyed by you than anybody else..and so I love you..❤️," [sic] she wrote. ALSO READ: Rashmika Mandanna takes cricket coaching in Hyderabad for Vijay Deverakonda’s Dear Comrade
Rashmika and Rakshit got engaged in July last year. They made for a beautiful couple and were one of the most popular jodis down South. They first came to limelight after their 2016 film Kirik Party. The film became one of Kannada industry's highest grossing movies, and soon their chemistry too became a major talking point. Currently, Rashmika is concentrating on her upcoming film Comrade in which she will essay the role of a cricketer.
