We bet you didn't know this!
I guess it's time to update our knowledge on Ranbir Kapoor. I am sure, like me, many of you thought that Ranbir Kapoor's first film was Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya opposite Sonam Kapoor. But it seems we are all wrong! Just today we caught our hands on a 10 year old short film named India 1964 and we can't tell you how shocked we were to find Ranbir Kapoor in it. We thought of sharing this fun fact with you.
While Saawariya still remains to be his first Bollywood film, Ranbir made his acting debut with this one. According to a report on a web portal, the film was shot in the year 2006. Apart from Ranbir Kapoor it also features seasoned actor Sharad Saxena. The film was directed by Ranbir’s friend Abhay Chopra. The movie was also shortlisted for the Students Oscars. Wow, isn't it great!
No doubt Ranbir Kapoor is the quintessential star kid, the scion of Indian cinema’s first family but he has always believed in carving a niche for himself on his own! Very few know that before doing Saawariya, he worked as a assistant director in Rishi Kapoor's directorial Aa Ab Laut Chalein and SLB's Black. Since then he has only gone from strength to strength proving that he is here to stay based not on his famously enviable surname but for his own talent.
Ranbir will be next seen in Karan Johar's much awaited film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos and Rajkumar Hirani's biopic on Sanjay Dutt.
