Popular Bollywood director David Dhawan, who is known for helming No 1 franchise along with films like Judwaa, Main Tera Hero and others, is celebrating his birthday today. And on his special, his son and actor Varun Dhawan shared a special video, where he is going through a photo album and and recalls the memory how his father is more of a friend to him. In the video, he says, “My dad. Kabhi baap ka farz nahi nibhaya unhone. Cricket match haar ke aaya toh thappad nahi maara. Balki peeth thapthapa kar bole - Haarega nahi toh seekhega kaise yaar.”
He further says, “Main umar se pehle bade hone ke chakkar mein tha. Unhone lagaam nahi lagayi, balki hum-umar ban kar baat samjhayi. Main gira toh lot-pot hoke hase, kaha ki kal ko girega toh duniya aise hi hasegi. Toh chal, practice kar le, ek-do baar. Baap ka farz kabhi nahi nibhaya...kyunki dosti ke farz mein woh mere baap nikle.” The actor wrote the caption, "Happy birthday Papa!! Thank u for teaching me to handle success and failure.Thank you for not only being my dad... but also my friend!"
On the professional, Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan have collaborated for Coolie No 1. The film was scheduled to release on May 1 but got delayed due to COVID-19 crisis. The film also features Sara Ali Khan and Paresh Rawal in key roles. The makers have recreated one of the iconic tracks from Coolie No 1 for the remake, which is Mein Toh Raste Se Ja Raha Tha. It is composed by Tanishk Bagchi. Talking about the track, director David Dhawan said, “It is an important song for our film, and it has heart. But times have changed so I am going to picturise it very differently with Varun and Sara." Recalling about the original track, David said. “We found a place in Bangalore with lot of Bhel Puri stalls and had the lead pair (Govinda and Karisma) strolling through it, exploring ‘Mumbai’. I thought it was the best way to capture the essence of the Maximum City back then." Well, this song will definitely make noise among the college kids.
