I don't know about you, but I am way past my teens and still in love with the Harry Potter series. The woman, JK Rowling who introduced me to the world of magic, celebrates her 55th birthday today. And just like many other Potterheads, I cannot thank her enough for making me live a thousand lives with each character from the wizarding universe. Words fail me when I am asked to describe or speak about it. But here I am writing my heart out and thanking you for giving some best life lessons with this epic saga.
Firstly, you taught me not to lose hope

When you gave away Harry to the Dursleys, I was scared for him. But the 11-year-old Harry’s calm and composed demeanor made me think how can he be so strong at such young age. You made his dream to leave the Dursleys come true when you got him the Hogwarts letter and along with him, I escaped my problems as well. So, thank you for making me feel that it will all pass and not to lose hope.
You taught me to be brave VIDEO
When Harry took the train to Hogwarts, not only him but also many like me took the brave step of escaping this mad world and entering into other madness. That quality of the 11-year-old Harry leaving his not so normal life behind at the King’s Cross made me braver than what I used to be.
You also taught me that it’s okay to be flawed VIDEO
We all have our flaws, nobody’s perfect, that’s the golden rule, but only you could have put it in the way you did. Despite Harry’s lack of self-control, Ron’s cursing or jealousy, Remus’ insecurities, Sirius’ recklessness, Dursleys' arrogance, they taught me many things.
Fear of a name increases fear of the thing itself VIDEO
I used Dumbledore’s quote here which Hermione says in the Chamber of Secrets. I would like to tell you that I am quite fearful at times but whenever I see this quote, I feel I could face anything in the world. I mean it, But had Dumbledore been here, Harry and I would have felt much better.
Lastly, friendships are the best thing in the world
I would forever envy Harry for having friends like Hermione and Ron. But thanks for making me realise the importance of having a friend by your side. This is one of the best lessons among many others.
I am yet to visit Hogwarts, but I feel like I have been there a thousand times already! Love ALWAYS.
