A few days back, we got the news that Vishal Bharadwaj has finalised Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi actress Radhika Madan along with Sanya Malhotra for his film, Chhuriyaaan. The lady who rose to fame with her TV series, Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi celebrates her birthday today. She began acting in a TV soap at the age of 19 and is just 23. After her show wrapped up, she focused a lot on grooming herself and her acting chops. She also did an Indonesian web-series with Shakti Arora and Ankit Bathla. In fact, she told Bollywood Life that no one considered her seriously as an actor on the sets of MATSH till she proved herself. She said, "Well, there were many who said I could not act for nuts. And that I was just good-looking. I remember after the gunshot scene, I was supposed to cry. I wept and there was pin drop silence on the sets. No one said anything. She is a trained dancer
The petite girl was discovered by Ekta Kapoor at a show in Delhi, where she was performing. The TV czarina felt she was perfect to play the naive but spirited Ishaani Parekh in Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi. Of course, Radhika has admitted that she knew nothing about being an actor and it took a lot of patience from the production and her co-star Shakti Arora to help her find her groove. Radhika is an expert in hip hop, B-boying and krumping. We really hope to see her in a dance film soon. Radhika was a part of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa but could not go far on the show.
She once ran away from the shoot of Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi
In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Life, Radhika said, "I ran away from the shoot one day. I was a pampered spoilt child who knew she would get away with anything. I used to sleep daily for 14-16 hours. Here, I was shooting non-stop for 24 hours, 48 hours and what not. Then, people told me that I could not run away. I used to go home and cry wondering what I was doing with my life. All that frustration vanished when I saw my first scene on TV. I felt it was totally worth it when I held my first award. The show has made me a stronger person. I know good acting is important. When people tell me that they have shed tears with me, I felt it is a worthwhile journey." She swept all the best Female Debut Awards that year.
She is Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan's neighbour
Buying a sea-facing home was Radhika's aim. She fulfilled it through Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi and other projects. The actress has a plush apartment in Juhu's Parineeta Building that also houses Shahid and Vidya. They are her neighbours. She took out a lot of time to do up her place. Radhika comes from a wealthy family in Delhi and owns a sprawling bungalow in Gurgaon.
She is in a steady relationship?
While Radhika does not talk about her relationship status a lot, rumours suggest that she is in a relationship with Ishan Arya. She knows her reported businessman beau for many years now. The two love to travel and party.
