Remo D'souza is currently one of the best choreographers in the industry. His journey is motivating and inspiring. Born as Ramesh Gopi to K. Gopi and Madhvi Laxmi the young lad had dreams of becoming the best dancer in the country. His father, on the other hand, wanted him to join the Air Force. While training at an Air Force school in Jamnagar, Remo indulged in athletics and extracurricular activities. Ever since a little boy he took part in competitions and stage shows. His passion for dancing grew with time.
While now he is an ace choreographer, there was a point when Remo couldn't afford to enroll in dance classes and given the condition at home, he had to take up odd jobs. He worked at bakeries, retails stores and cycle repair shops. Remo polished his passion for dance by watching music videos and movies. When Michael Jackson's Thriller was released, Remo found his idol. He grew up on Michael Jackson's videos and would copy him to improve his dance routines.
Remo’s passion for dance brought him to Mumbai where he lived with a very generous family. Remo opened up a dance class by the name of Super Brats in Charni Road. With the help of his friends he then opened up two more dance institutes in Andheri and Borivali. He juggled between these three different classes but was still far from achieving what he wanted. One of his teams was selected in a dance competition and since began his Bollywood journey.
Also, at the same time, famed choreographer Ahmed Khan was on the look-out for a fresh face and his assistant insisted on roping in Remo. That was when he began working with Ahmed Khan. After a year or so, he got the confidence of taking up independent projects and that’s how his journey to become the most sought-after choreographer began...

Disco Deewane - Student of the Year
Student of the Year was a big hit of 2012 and one of the reasons being its peppy music. Disco Deewane is a crucial song for the film, as the participants face their inner conflict in the face of the dance competition during prom night. Not to forget, cameos by Farah Khan and Vaibhavi Merchant quirked it up along with Rishi Kapoor. Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra along with Sana Saeed, Sahil Anand, Mansi Rachh, Manjot Singh and Kayoze Irani truly set the stage on fire!
Badtameez Dil - Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewaani
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani was one blockbuster movie of 2013. And special mention, it marked Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's second collaboration after Bachna Ae Haseeno. Badtameez Dil was a huge hit and we know we are not wrong when we say that this song was a must-play at every function. Sun Saathiya - ABCD 2
ABCD is Remo's home franchise and we surely love the choreography of all its songs. Sunn Saathiya made it to the list because people went crazy with this number. Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan's chemistry and their moves made it one of the most watched videos of the year. Remo truly created magic with this romantic and sprightly song.
Deewani Mastani - Bajirao Mastani
Deewani Mastani earned Remo D’Souza the prestigious National Award in 2016. Deepika's grace and expressions were like the cherry on the cake to this rendition, which was sung by Shreya Ghoshal.
Ghar More Pardesiya - Kalank.
Given that it was Alia's maiden attempt at classical dancing and that too in the same frame as Madhuri Dixit, made Ghar More Pardesiya one of the most anticipated songs from the movie. The larger-than-life sets, mesmerising voice of Shreya Ghoshal and Alia Bhatt doing Kathak made this song a visual and delightful treat for the music lovers.
Remo has also judged reality dance shows, Dance India Dance and then went on to create his own show Dance plus which recently completed its fourth season in February this year. He also dabbled into direction with movies like A Flying Jatt, ABCD, ABCD 2 and Race 3. Remo is all set to direct Street Dancer 3D with Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor. The film also stars Nora Fatehi in a pivotal role. The film is slated to release on 8th November 2019.
