A new song from the upcoming film, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, has been released. With this new release, add another one to the list of song remakes and this time it's the Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu from the 1958 Indian film Howrah Bridge. Ouch! We all know what a fan favourite classic this number is.
Well, what's done is done now! So all we can do is listen to the recreated melody, Chin Chin Chu, and judge it. And this time we will keep our judgment reserved. How about you tell us if you liked the new spin on the age-old melody or not. The new Chin Chin Chu adds a Punjabi flavour to the mix. The music video focusses on the four main leads - Jassie Gill, Sonakshi Sinha, Jimmy Sheirgill, Piyush Mishra - trying to get out of a tricky situation by singing the song for distraction. BTW, Sonakshi and Jassie have actually sung the song. Sohail Sen has re-created the melody. Sonakshi has earlier featured in song remakes like Gulabi Aankhein in Noor and Kaate Nahi Katate in Force 2. We would really appreciate if Bollywood ends this ridiculous trend and instead focusses on original creations.
Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi is a sequel to the 2016 film, Happy Bhag Jayegi. The first film was centred on Happy, played by Diana Penty, landing in Pakistan by mistake. The second film has its focus on Happy, played by Sonakshi Sinha, being mistaken for the original Happy and landing in trouble in China.
Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi is slated to release on August 24. Mudassar Aziz also returns as the director of the film. And so have the co-producers, Krishika Lulla and Aanand L Rai.
