South superstar Pawan Kalyan is in news lately thanks to his movie Hari Hara Veera Mallu. The film that took five years to complete has finally hit the theatres. Hari Hara Veera Mallu released on July 24 and all the Pawan Kalyan fans are celebrating his return to the big screen. The movie is directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and Jyothi Krishna. Some other big names are also attached to the film. Bollywood star Bobby Deol is seen in a key role in this Telugu period drama. It is just the first part titled Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 - Sword vs Spirit that has released. Pawan Kalyan also did extensive promotions of the movie. During one of the events, he spoke about his remuneration for the film.
Did Pawan Kalyan slash his fees for Hari Hara Veera Mallu?
As per a report in Hindustan Times, it is being rumoured that Pawan Kalyan has only charged Rs 11 to 20 crore for Hari Hara Veera Mallu. The amount appears to much lesser than what he charged for his previous film (Rs 50 crore). In one of the media interactions, he briefly touched upon the topic and hinted that he would decide about the fees after the movie becomes a hit. He was quoted saying, "Because even my remuneration for this…(laughs). I don’t know, I’ll consider it if it may become a hit tomorrow. My idea is that the film should be released first and do well to safeguard the producer." This came after Pawan Kalyan explaining why he chose to break his rule and promote the movie at press meet. He generally avoids promoting his movies but this time, he did. He explained that he feels that producers have suffered because of him not promoting his movies and now he reels some sort of responsibility especially because the movie has been delayed. He also called these 'extenuating circumstances'.
Why was Hari Hara Veera Mallu delayed?
Reportedly, Hari Hara Veera Mallu was announced in 2020, however, due to several reasons the project got delayed. Initially, the Coronavirus pandemic led to the delay in the film. Later, Pawan Kalyan ventured into politics and took a break during Andhra Pradesh elections. Now that the movie is in theatres, it is receiving mixed review from the audience.
