We have heard about how Ashish Patil of Y-Films has been fired after being accused of asking for sexual favours. Vikas Bahl has been omitted from Ranveer Singh's '83 and even Amazon has cancelled a web-series with him. Sajid Khan has left Housefull 4 and even Varun Grover's Sacred Games 2 is in the lurch. Now, news is that Ajit Thakur of Reliance Entertainment has stepped down after being accused of sexual misconduct by writer Supriya Prasad. In her statement, Supriya said that Ajit forced her to consume alcohol and cocaine and later asked her inappropriate questions.
Ajit Thakur’s lawyer told Pinkvilla, “He resigned so that he can pursue legal remedies. He was traveling and just got back today and as soon as he came he tendered his resignation to pursue his legal remedies.” Corporate firms have been taking strict steps in adherence to the laws.
Yash Raj Films in a statement said, "YRF has earnestly requested the survivor to kindly step forward and share her account of the incidents to the Presiding Officer of our Internal Complaints Committee who would maintain utmost confidentiality. We seek her kind cooperation in the investigation so that we can appropriately address this issue. We are more than willing to extend our full support and cooperation to address this serious allegation. YRF has zero tolerance towards any form of sexual exploitation or harassment of women and we shall take the strictest necessary action against the alleged perpetrator, if the allegations of sexual harassment are found to be true."
